We encourage collaborative practice amongst students on ASN and, as part of this, the first years end semester 1 with a joint project in Tent Gallery. The installation is designed to be viewed from the street when the building is closed for the winter break.
This year’s project was entitled BOUGHT ENOUGH, a comment on consumerism which questions how much we purchase and what is really necessary. This message was especially relevant during the period shown as it was over Christmas and New Year, highlighting how normalised the overconsumption of gifts and food is during these times. The bold letters were presented in an empty space to contrast simplicity with the visual chaos of consumerism, giving space for reflection.
