Dig For Victory

Friday march 5, 5-6:30pm at the Experimental Station:

Elise Campbell (landscape architecture) and Stefania Strouza (architecture) both from the Art, Space, Nature, graduate program at the Edinburough College of Art, will lead a discussion exploring projects they are involved in that respond to two garden sites: one in Athens, Greece; and the other in Edinburgh, Scotland. Issues related to a third garden location in Chicago at 61st and Dorchester, which is facing imminent closure by the University of Chicago, will round out the discussion.

“The background history of these gardens, their locations and contexts could not be more different however there are relationships between them and the social influences of these sites are particularly interesting.  We hope that questions asked at the event will instigate debate and discussion and will provide further insight into our own research and questioning of artists roles in gardens.”
